Moving to Australia With Pets: Your Questions Answered by Keringa-Petwings (Part 2)

Question: Can our cat and dog fly in the passenger section of the 'plane with us?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the cabin while travelling to Australia due to the country’s quarantine restrictions.

Question: If not, where do pets go on the 'plane?

Pets travel in the cargo hold (belly) of the aircraft. They are placed in a pressurised section of the hold which is strictly temperature-controlled and has specialised lighting that’s not too bright or too dark.

Ask us about transporting snub-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds such as Boxer and Pug dogs, and Persian cats.
